This simple, striking piece from artist Lizzie Spikes is made up from a collection of driftwood pieces collaged together to make a driftwood canvas. The forms of the letters fit on and around the sea worn wooden pieces.

Lizzie Spikes lives, works and walks on the beautiful West coast of Wales. She creates her paintings on canvases fashioned from the flotsam and jetsam found washed up on the beaches of Ceredigion.

The planks and old wood show evidence of their previous lives and working with layers of old paint, the nail holes and the man made shapes along with the form fashioned by the sea to create original and inspiring canvases for her paintings - giving these pieces of wood new life and purpose.
